"I'm gonna prove to Maximino once and for all that Olivia's no good for him!"

Lola, on a stakeout

Lola was a photo-girl at the Blue Casket in Rubacava, serving as a side character in Year 2.

Personality[]

Lola, although determined and clever, is easily jealous and witty. Using elaborate methods to hide Nick and Olivia's photo, and making offhand comments about Manny being a "gambling racketeer," and referring to Nick as a "fink."

Background[]

Lola was initially protected by Scrimshaw artist, Toto Santos, whom she saw as a father figure. She had the tendency to fall in love with the wrong guys, including the crime lord Maximino, which would later turn to jealousy as Max moved on to pursue Olivia Ofrenda. In her final moments, she admits having loved Manny Calavera at one point in time, but gave up pursuing him since he couldn't get over his obsession with Mercedes Colomar.

Role in Year 2[]

Fueled by a need to prove that Olivia was betraying Max, she set up to get a picture of her in the act with Maximino's lawyer, Nick Virago. Lola got her picture and quickly fled the scene.

Her exact movements afterwards are not known. Presumably she snuck into the photo-finish booth in the race-track and swapped the photo of Sanspoof with the one of Nick and Olivia kissing. She then took the photo of Sanspoof and put it in Santos' album with the design '#36 The Rusty Anchor'. She then took her coat with a paper saying 'The Rusty Anchor' to the Calavera Cafe with a note for Manny with a key to the lighthouse. Presumably she waited for him there.

Fate[]

Nick Virago would catch up with Lola before Manny was able to, using the key intended for Manny to unlock the lighthouse and sprout her. Manny was able to get to the lighthouse but it was too late. Manny discovers Lola already-sprouting while she lies against the railing of the lighthouse, in her final moments she tells Manny to warn Olivia about her taste in men, and confesses her feelings for the man before sprouting completely and blowing away with the wind; leaving only a plastic tile behind bearing the photo of a tongue, the ticket to Calavera's coat-check.

Quotes[]

"Shhh! Manny I'm on a stakeout!" - Lola, when Manny speaks to her in The Blue Casket

"Tell me Manny, would I have had a chance?" - Lola, while on the banister of the lighthouse

Trivia[]

  • Lola would be honored later when Manny took over the SS Limbo and renamed it the SS Lola. Glottis commented that it was bad luck.
  • Although Lola is seen twice in game, she is not able to be interacted with and solely exists in cutscenes.
  • In the Italian dub of the game, Lola refers to Nick as a "bastard" instead of "fink."
